The New Grange is a privately owned Dementia Care Home, in Worthing, West Sussex, adjacent to Worthing Hospital.

It is ideally situated, with the seafront, town centre, coach and bus terminal and Worthing main line railway station, all less than a mile away.

We have a large car park within the grounds, and there is also ample parking nearby.

The New Grange specialises in dementia care and is registered for 45 residents in ensuite rooms over two floors.

There are handrails and wheelchair access as well as a lift to the first floor. We have assisted bathing facilities, and all our lounges have televisions and facilities for listening to music or quiet reading.

Many of our well-appointed rooms are ensuite and we are pleased to accept personal belongings to create a “home from home” environment.

We also have a large, beautiful secluded rear garden, with a decked area, as well as lawns and flower beds.

We provide the highest quality, person centred care, within a homely environment, with the wellbeing of our residents at the core of everything we do.

The care we provide is always guided by our service users’ preferences and experiences and abilities.

We aim to provide a stimulating environment, encouraging our residents to continue to enjoy daily living activities that they enjoy before being placed in a care environment.

Training is paramount and we are proud that almost all our staff have an NVQ level 2 or above.

All new staff at the New Grange undertake an induction process alongside our more senior staff. This helps them familiarise themselves with the layout of the home, and more importantly getting to know our residents and their needs.

Our GP practice provides weekly visits to our surgery and we have a resident hairdresser in our own hairdressing salon.

Food Hygiene Rating

Nutrition plays a vital part in the health and wellbeing of our residents therefore we provide food of the highest quality.

All of our meals are home-made and we cater for specialist diets and preferences. We employ a qualified chef/professional cook 7 days a week.

We provide a cooked breakfast each day with the choice of cereal and toast.

All this is prepared in our newly fitted kitchen, and served in our dining room, or if the resident chooses, one of the lounges or their own room.

Our activities co-ordinator works five days a week providing meaningful activities for our residents within and outside the home.

Outside entertainers also visit the New Grange to provide activities ranging from exercises, music and art classes.

The home has its own hair dressing salon and a hair dresser who is available three times a week for appointments.

Our management team is made up by our Registered Manager, Emma Harris, Deputy Manager and Head of Care Mark Peirce and Administrator Jo Rainbird. All have a depth of experience and their roles receive regular support from their Directors.

The New Grange is part of Haven Care Home Management who have invested heavily to improve the look and size of the property, furnishing and facilities.

Top quality care is our goal, and we engage the services of an ex CQC advisor on a regular basis throughout our homes, to ensure that we stay on target and our high expectations are maintained.

Throughout our 4 care homes we provide top quality dementia care within comfortable surroundings and great value for money.
